English COM 141 - Fall, 2023
Class Information
Instructor:
STAFF
Time:
TR 10:30-11:50
Description
This is an introduction to critical theory. Because critical theory is a long-standing, elaborate, & contested field of study, we will be able to engage only a fraction of the many traditions & thinkers. We will focus on the materialist tradition as it engages with class struggle, racialization and anticolonial thought, Indigenous studies, and gender studies, & even an hour or two with Hegel. All readings will be available for free online or on course site.
Grading
Grade will be heavily weighted toward seminar participation and in-class exercises.
